Gemma believes that her greatest skill is organisation and planning – something which she also enjoys to teach. When not in ‘work mode’, Gemma’s ideal day is spent with her husband, Dave, and her two young children, Freddie and Harry. She also has a passion for giving time to support our next generation of young adults in a charitable capacity. Gem’s favourite things are food (well, most foods!) and drink. She is particularly partial to a good wine or gin. Her dislike is what Gem would call ‘mood hoovers’ (aka grumpy negative people). Gem’s taste in music has grown into an eclectic one, but most of her days are currently spent listening to the Paw Patrol or Peppa Pig theme tunes! Best quote? “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” – Robert F. Kennedy.
Dave is best known for being our handyman at Mocha, drinking lots of coffee and whistling a tune. He has two degrees, a BSc in Physiotherapy University of Hertforshire and an MSc Sports Injuries Manchester Metropolitian University, this hard work at university has led him into some fantastic career paths, including being a physiotherapist for the NHS, consulting Red Bull, Watford Football Club and currently part time at Leicester Tigers, where he has spent the last 10 seasons working with the first team. Dave enjoys bringing a sporting philosophy and ethos in to the business environment which is proving to be an exciting addition to Mocha’s working ways. Outside of work Dave likes to spend time with the family and dog, exercise and spend time in Cornwall, which is where he was born and bred, so you’ll always find him in a pair of flip flops! His favourite artist is at the moment is Sam Fender and Dermot Kennedy but will happily listen to all music. As much as he likes spending time with people, Dave dislikes negative people! His quote to live by is “Work hard, play harder”.
Alex’s greatest skill is having a mind of completely random facts – she’s great when it comes to pub quizzes. Her knowledge isn’t just random when it comes to marketing though, she previously worked in high-level marketing roles and Gemma says she is the most incredible marketing strategist she’s ever met, so really knows her stuff! When away from work, Alex loves to spend time with her family. One fun fact about Alex is that she has taken off in a plane 1200 more times than she has landed in one (good luck working that one out!) If you want to get on her good side then she likes listening to Bon Jovi and eating chocolate, as much as she dislikes the calories that come with it! A quote Alex lives by is “When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression”.
Beth’s writing and organisation are her best skills! With a degree in English from The University of Leicester and marketing experience at the Wickes head office, Beth decided marketing was the career she wanted to pursue – she even starred in a Wickes TV advert! If she’s not watching Game of Thrones or sipping Pornstar Martinis, you’ll find her spending time with her family, friends and Poppy the dog. She dislikes slow internet connection and weak coffee, but can be cheered up by listening to her favourite artist, Ariana Grande. A quote that Beth lives by is “Your attitude determines your direction”.
Being creative with words is Georgia’s best skill. Her love of words came from studying Journalism at Sheffield Hallam University. Her previous role was working as an Account Executive, but she soon realised content was for her! When she’s not at work you’ll find her at a gig, festival or booking another holiday! Her favourite band is The Courteeners and she has seen them around 20 times! Alongside this, Georgia’s favourite things consist of food, Red Stripe, shopping and going to the pub with friends. Her biggest dislikes include the song Mr Brightside and a rubbish cup of tea. Georgia’s quote to live by is “I’m here for a good time, not a long time”.
Graphic design and artwork are skills that Gail is best known for. After gaining a HNC in Graphic Design, Gail hasn’t looked back and has worked in this role ever since! Her biggest dislike, aside from peanut butter, is a bad design. If she’s not listening to her favourite artists, Take That, Tom Walker and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, you’ll find her walking Benjie the dog or spending time with her family. Gail loves a good cup of tea, sunshine and her garden, and her favourite quote is “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart”.
