Breaking the ‘Typical Agency’ Mould! 

CONSIDERING AN AGENCY FOR YOUR 2020 MARKETING … GOOD OR BAD IDEA?

Good.  If you choose the right one.

This sounds terrible.  In fact, it sounds like we’re one of those businesses who speak appallingly about their competition.  Quite the contrary (for those of you who know us will know this isn’t our style at all)… but the fact is, I’ve been there. I’ve been in your shoes, as ‘the client’, needing to outsource our marketing or add resource to the team and have carefully (or so I thought) selected many an agency during my 10 years in senior marketing positions as ‘the client’.

I’m not going to sit here and slander all [other] marketing agencies.  Not at all.  There are some great agencies out there and there is absolutely a place for the ‘typical’ agency – but it wasn’t what I needed.  I ‘carefully’ selected (on several occasions) the wrong agency and ultimately, it came down to the relationship and what I expected out of it.

So I’m not going to highlight the advantages of using any old agency because I was  quite rubbish at finding the right agency that worked for me.  I’m going to highlight the advantages of using our agency; Mocha Communicates. Because we were born  out of my frustration with agencies and that makes us different all together…

Advantages of using Mocha:

Well, our hashtag #Notjustanotheragency says it all.  We don’t want you to think of us as an agency.  We want you to think of us as your Marketing Department (or extension of).

We don’t have ‘Account Managers’.  We have Marketing Managers … and Marketing Directors and Marketing Executives and Content Writers etc etc (you get the picture!). We recruit passionate, hardworking skilled professionals who deserve these titles.

We have 6 Client Promises which our entire business is based around.  This is the foundation of everything we do.

We understand that one size doesn’t fit all. Whether you’re looking to outsource your entire marketing, have a one-off project, or could just do with spending time with one of our Marketing Directors to work on a strategy for your business, we’re here for you.

We DO NOT tick boxes.  Nope.  Absolutely not. Never. And we would never undertake a task or project if we didn’t feel we could deliver results.

We are a team of professionals with many years of experience between us.  We invest in our team and don’t expect junior positions to produce the results you’re looking for.

We invest (our) time in understanding your business, industry and relevant target audience.  Think of us like a new employee; anything they would have to do to learn the ropes, we expect to have to do too.

We’re completely transparent in everything we do and send a weekly ‘task/project update’ list, just like you would expect from your internal team.

We assume responsibility and accountability.  You won’t get any of this ‘final check is on your head’ from us.  Nope.  You wouldn’t expect that from your Marketing Manager and after all, that is the position we’re striving for.

And lastly (it’s a biggie!) … there’s no contract to sign.  Every business coach I have ever worked with tells me that we should have contracts in place, but I decide to stand firmly by the decision that I made when Mocha was born.  Our relationship with our clients shouldn’t be based on a contract. They should be based on a great relationship, trust, results and hard work every single month (not just the months leading up to the contract coming to an end!).

So there you have it.  I’ve put pen to paper to try and explain how and why, we’re so passionate about ‘breaking the mould’.
